best horror movies international
One thing that has allowed the horror genre to thrive and evolve in the way it has is that it is universal. Every culture has its own ghost stories or folk tales designed to shock and frighten any who dare to listen. Some of the scariest stories come from Japanese culture , and this is evident in the imported horror movies from the country.

What is the #1 scary movie in the US?
The Chinese disinterest in horror is due in part to the restrictive censorship rules in China, which strictly limit what types of movies are permitted in Chinese cinemas. Many horror films will fall foul of restrictions on the promotion of bad habits (which include smoking, drinking, gambling, obscenity, drug abuse, sex, violence and criminal activity) and movies containing ideas not based on scientific fact (including ghosts, religion, time travel, the supernatural and superstition).
Romantic Comedy Mexico turns out to be a very healthy market for romantic comedies, and we were surprised to see Russia at the top of this list too. The Japanese and French seem to be less enthusiastic about matters of the heart (or they’re less inclined to find such things funny?)

Which horror movie is banned?
5 The Human Centipede The shocking Dutch film The Human Centipede redefined the body horror genre. In the movie, a German surgeon surgically attaches three tourists to form a “centipede” made of humans. Unsurprisingly, the disturbing film was very controversial and received heavy bans for body horror and graphic violence. The Human Centipede was banned altogether from Icelandic, British, and Australian theaters and released in the US without a rating.
Its sequel, The Human Centipede 2, was placed under even heavier bans due to its exacerbation of the horrific elements in the first film. Not many people were able to get through either movie (or the third film) without cringing at the distressing content.
